"Going from Good to GREAT!"
This year's Governors
project is to improve the status of our Leadership Programs.
The goals of this project are:
-Increase the number of Service Leadership Programs in the District
-Increase the number of members in our Service Leadership Programs
-Increase the service hours and projects
-Increase support to Service Projects and programs, both financially
and physically.
Our clubs project this year is to
establish an new
"Aktion Club"
An "Aktion" Club is a branch
of Kiwanis specifically for person with developmental disabilities.
Kent and surrounding areas
have a high population of these highly capable folks. We're working
together with Kent Parks Adaptive Recreation to make this happen.
Kent Parks Adaptive Recreation
Departments is arguably the best Adaptive Rec. program in the State.
It's diverse and rich with programs and it's participants are highly
active in the community, especially in the area of community
service. It draws participants from all over our surrounding
areas. It just makes sense that we join with our brothers and
sisters to make this club happen for the betterment of our lives and
this highly valuable population.
